Question 7: Why do you think Pope Julius gave Michelangelo so much time to find ‘his Judas’? Do you think Michelangelo deserved the duration of time he was given by the Pope?
Answer: Pope Julius gave Michelangelo so much time to find ‘his Judas’, because the Pope believed in the art of Michelangelo. He thought that he was the right man to paint the Chapel, as he was sincerely devoted to his work. Michelangelo used to lie down on his back and look at the ceilings for hours, he also used to read the verses of the Bible again and again just so that he could imagine the faces of Jesus, Mary and Judas. All this had persuaded Pope Julius to think that none other than Michelangelo could paint the Chapel.
Yes, Michelangelo deserved the duration of time as this helped him to find ‘his Judas’, through which he could complete ‘The Last Judgement.’
