Answer: The conquest opened up tourism, bringing up unprecedented number of climbers to the region. It improved the lives of the Sherpas as they played a central role in all expeditions.

Answer: Edmund Hillary was responsible for constructing a hospital in the village of Khunde. He also helped construct an airstrip to speed up the construction of the hospital. The airstrip brought a massive tourist trade to the region.
