Question 1: Why couldn’t Mark go to the match?
Answer: Mark couldn’t go to the match because he had been cycling back from the school day before and had fallen off his bicycle and his leg was broken.

Answer: Mark was so disappointed because he had been eagerly looking forward to go for a real, live football match for the first time in his life but on that day, he couldn’t go because of his broken leg.

Answer: Mark couldn’t recognize Vince Oliver at first because Vince was not in his sporting gear. Mark had only seen the pictures of Vince in Red and White sports dress and not in everyday clothes.

Answer: Vince Oliver gave his autograph to Mark on his plaster which made Mark to feel very happy.

Answer: The nurse was surprised at Mark when he asked back the old plaster.

Answer: She found the request surprising because usually no one would ask back the plaster which is already used.
(c) Why did he make this request?
Answer: He made this request because it was very precious to be thrown away as it had the autograph of Vince Oliver.
