Question 8: Do you agree with the way the peasant divided his money? What would you do if you had to divide your money?

Answer: I agree with his way. This is because the peasant needed to save some money for himself so as to remain independent. He also needed to keep some for his wife for all the things that she does for the family and for his children to secure their future. The peasant was right to save some money for his parents because they have taken good care of him in his childhood and it was now the peasant’s turn to look after them and their needs.

If I had to divide my money, I would have divided it in the same way.

Question 9: Do you think children should look after their parents? Why?

Answer: I think, children should look after their parents because they always take care of their children, and spend their whole life in nurturing them and want nothing in return. It is also the duty of the children to look after their parents when they become old.

Question 10: Did the peasant break his promise to the king? Give reasons for your answer.

Answer: No, the peasant didn’t break his promise made to the king. This is because when he got hundred coins from the minister in exchange for the reply to the riddle, he saw the king’s face on each coin hundred times. That is how, he kept his promise made to the king.
