Question 1: What did Colin do all the time? How do you know that he did this activity all the time?
Answer: Colin used to trot over different sorts of surfaces all the time.
The words ‘trotting’ and ‘trotted’ were repeated several times throughout the poem which tells us about his trotting.
Question 2: What is the difference between Colin’s trotting and other trotter’s trotting?
Answer: Unlike other trotters, Colin’s trotting hardly used to make a sound.
Question 3: What was the accident that Colin suffered?
Answer: One day, Colin slipped over a ball and fell down the staircase and broke all his legs and ankles.
Question 4: When can one hear Colin trotting? Why?
Answer: After the accident, Colin’s legs and ankles were plastered and he used to trot on crutches. So, whenever he used to trot at night people could hear the tapping sound.
