Question 1: Read the lines and answer the questions:
1. They take out all the trash,
and wash her car parked outside!
They water all the plants in the garden,
And mop the floors the same night
(a) Who are ‘they’?
Answer: ‘They’ are the fairies.
(b) Why do they do all the work?
Answer: They do all the work because they want to help the Grandmother.
2. So she looks outside the window,
And sees the fairies fly away into the sky so blue!
She smiles and silently says a big “Thank you”.
(a) Who is ‘she’?
Answer: ‘She’ is the Grandmother.
(b) Why does she say, ‘Thank You’?
Answer: She says, ‘Thank You’ because the fairies have helped her in completing her chores.
Question 2: Which word tells you that fairies did not come every day?
Answer: In the first stanza of the poem, the Grandmother uses the word ‘sometimes’ that tell us that fairies did not come every day.
Question 3: When did the fairies come to help grandmother?
Answer: The fairies came at night when the stars twinkled and there was a full moon to help Grandmother.
Question 4: How did the fairies help grandmother?
Answer: The fairies helped grandmother by doing various household chores with their wands.
Question 5: What were the chores that the fairies did for the grandmother?
Answer: The fairies washed up the dishes and the dirty clothes, cleaned up dusty rooms, took out the trash and washed the grandmother’s car. They also watered all the plants in the garden and moped the floors.

Answer: Yes, it is good to help elders because they do a lot of things for us. So, we can also make them feel relaxed and comfortable by doing small things for them. This one way of showing our care and love for them.
Question 7: Write a few pairs of rhyming words from the poem.
Answer: Sometimes-shines, chores-snores, dishes-swishes, outside-night.
