After that, as they started getting more tired with the process, all three of them started dumping all kinds of ingredients in the stew.

Answer: Yes, I would call the three men adventurous. This is because, they seem to have been travelling without any definite plans. For instance, when they reach Sonning they roam around enjoying the place, without worrying about when to resume their journey again.
