Question 1: How does the river travel?
Answer: The river travels as though it is gliding. It curves and bends and seems to shine when the water catches sunlight. It flows smoothly over its clean gravel.

Answer: According to the poet, a child would want to live in the world under the river. The child is attracted to the things and life she/he can see under the water.

Answer: The riverbed disappears from view when the wind blows or an animal takes a dip or when fish moves in the water. These movements send ripples on the surface of the water and nothing can be seen.

Answer: The poet asks the children to be patient because the ripples will gradually disappear and everything will again become visible and clear. The children will be able to see everything under the surface of water as well as their faces once the ripples disappear.
