Question 2: Why were the scientists racing against time to launch the MOM?
Answer: The scientists were racing against time to launch the MOM because in eighteen months, earth and mars would come very close to each other as they orbited the sun. The scientists wanted to send the satellite into space then, because it would need less energy.
Question 3: What was the first challenge for the scientists and how did they solve it?
Answer: The first challenge for the scientists was to take the satellite out of earth’s orbit because its engine was not strong enough. They had to come up with a way to generate a lot of speed fast.
They solved it by making the satellite orbit around the earth six times and waited till it picked up enough speed. Then, they fired the engines to thrust the satellite out of earth’s orbit.
Question 4: What was the second challenge for the scientists and why?
Answer: The second challenge for the scientists was to get the satellite into mars’ orbit.
This is because if the satellite was too slow, it would crash into mars and if it was too fast, it would miss the planet’s orbit and drift off into space.
Question 5: In the last panel of the comic, whom are the scientists speaking to? How do you know?
Answer: They are speaking to the readers. We know it because they are facing towards the readers and also, they are hoping that there maybe any one of the readers who would lead everybody to the stars.
