(a) Who is saying these words?
Answer: The writer is saying these words.
(b) What are the wrigglers?
Answer: The wrigglers are tiny creatures who twist and turn their bodies.
(c) Why does he call them by that name?
Answer: He calls them by that name because they wriggle a lot.
(d) What are they actually called?
Answer: They are actually called tadpoles.
Question 2: Write True or False for the following sentences:
1. Some creatures that live in water may die if the water becomes too warm – True
2. As the tadpoles grew, their tails became longer – False
3. The tadpoles were kept in a big bucket – False
4. Frogs can breathe in water as well as on land – True
Question 3: Why did they put some weed into the jar?
Answer: They put some weed into the jar so that the tadpoles could cling to it.
Question 4: What mistake did the writer make and how did he correct it?
Answer: Thinking that the tadpoles might be feeling cold, the writer placed the jar out in the sun and he later realised that the tadpoles looked as if they were going to die.
He felt sorry and corrected his mistake by rushing out to his uncle. His uncle quickly poured out the warm water and added some cool, fresh water and saved tadpoles’ lives.

Answer: A tadpole has a tiny head and a tail whereas a frog has four legs and a squat body.
Question 6: Where do you think the frogs went?
Answer: I think, the frogs went to live in their natural home.
