Written by Tony Mitton, this poem is in the form of a conversation between ‘A’ and ‘B’. ‘A’ doesn’t believe in ghosts and spirits and thinks they are imaginary. However, ‘B’ seems to think they are real.

Answer: According to me, no supernatural creatures exist as it is only the part of the world of fictional stories. Though, to make the world of the stories alive for the listeners, we do take the help of these creatures by taking their different appearances and different manners in which these creatures sound but even then, they cannot be a part of our living world.
Question 9: The poem is in the form of a conversation. Why do you think the poet choose to write in this form? Do you think the form is appropriate in the context? Why do you think so?
Answer: The dialogue form is the best form for this poem because two completely different points of view are brought forth.
Question 10: What does the title of the poem – ‘No Such Thing’ tells us about the poet’s point of view?
Answer: The title tells us that the poet does not believe in supernatural creatures.
