Question 1: How did Saina Nehwal celebrate her winning? Why?
Answer: Saina Nehwal celebrated winning the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics by gorging on pizza, pasta and ice-cream because she had not tasted the junk food for almost a decade.

Answer: Saina’s day begins at six in the morning after a good nine-hour sleep at night. Her morning four hours are devoted to badminton practice. Twice a week, she plays matches against male shuttlers. An hour-long session in the afternoon is dedicated to fine tuning her game. This is followed by exercise and weight training at the gym four times a week and a 70 minute run on the remaining two days. Sunday is a rest day.

Answer: Saina’s story of success began in 2003, at the age of 13 years, when she won the Czechoslovakia Junior Championship. In 2006, Saina won the Philippines Open and was placed second at the World Junior Championships and two years later, in 2008, she became the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships. In the same year, at the Beijing Summer Olympics she became the first Indian female player to reach the singles quarter finals.

Answer: Tears of happiness rolled down Saina’s eyes after winning the Olympic Bronze Medal. This was due to the fact that because of her, Indian Tricolour was hoisted there. She got the prize of her sacrifices.

Answer: Saina’s achievements have been well recognized in India and she is the proud recipient of three of India’s highest sporting awards. In 2009, Saina received the Arjuna award. In 2010, Saina was again honoured by first the Padma Shri Award and later that year the highest national sports award – the Rajiv Gandhi KheI Ratna.

Answer: Saina weeps whenever she loses any match because it hurts when you loose. However, she also cries after winning the match. The difference is that, she sheds the tears of happiness.

Answer: Girls are achieving success in every field but their achievements have not been highlighted in many areas. Girls are no lesser than boys in any way or in any field. Now, as Saina has won a medal, this will help other girls to get the desired recognition.
