Answer: The Sandford house was situated on a hill outside the town.

Question 3: Who was shouting “Bwana! Bwana”?
Answer: Mdisho was shouting “Bwana! Bwana”.
Question 4: What was the cook doing?
Answer: The cook was chasing the lion.
Question 5: Where did the servants live?
Answer: The servants lived in a series of low whitewashed outbuildings at the back of the house.
Question 6: What is a tarboosh?
Answer: A tarboosh is a sort of top-hat without a brim and there is often a black tassel on it.

Answer: The cook’s wife was wearing a red and white spotted dress.
Question 8: Why was Robert Sanford shouting at the cook?
Answer: Robert Sanford was shouting at the cook because he could not shoot Simba, the lion as the cook was in his way obstructing him. He shouted at the cook to lie down so that he could shoot the lion.

Answer: Robert Sanford stopped, raised his rifle and took aim at the lion. As the big gun went off, there was an almighty crack and spurt of dust just ahead of the lion and the lion stopped.

Answer: No, the lady (cook’s wife) was not hurt because she laid in Simba’s mouth pretending as if she was dead. The lion did not even bite through her clothes and carried her as gently as if she had been one of his own cubs.

Answer: A lion had entered the house and had grabbed the cook’s wife in its jaws. So, the chaos was about saving her.

Answer: When Robert Sanford heard Mdisho yelling, he went into the house and came out again in 5 seconds holding a powerful rifle to shoot the lion.
