Answer: Yes, the friend who found the purse was selfish. If I was in his place I would have shared the money as travellers are ought to share everything.
Question 3: How did the friend behave when he got the purse? How did his behaviour change when he knew that he was in danger?
Answer: When the friend got the purse, he behaved angrily. When he knew that he was in danger, became panic and his behaviour changed suddenly and asked for help from his friend.
Question 4: ‘With you the dishonesty lies.’ Who is the ‘you’ here? Why is he dishonest?
Answer: ‘You’ is here the friend who got the purse. He is dishonest as when he got the purse, he alone became its owner but when he was in danger he said that the purse belong to both of them.

Answer: No, the friend should not have helped the other when asked for help because when he got the purse he became mean.
Question 6: What do you think is the moral of this poem?
Answer: The moral of this poem is ‘We cannot expect anyone to share our misfortunes unless we are willing to share our good fortune also.’

Answer: If the friend who found the purse had been willing to share the money then when they were in trouble would have helped each other at that time.

Answer: After the man and the constable caught up with the two friends, they would have been punished.

Answer: ‘Friend’ – A friend in need is a friend indeed. It means we should help friend in every situation. We should share every fortune or misfortune together.
