(b) What will happen if this is not done?

Answer: If this is not done then, the garbage will take too much space and also, there will be fear of pollution if the waste is not put under soil cover daily.

(c) How does the waste from landfill causes air pollution?

Answer: The waste from landfill release highly combustible methane gas resulting in fires producing smoke. This along with burning of waste results in air pollution.

Answer: The village faced the problem of waste management. There were huge dumps of garbage in the area.

Answer: Swachh Bharat Mission inspired the villagers to tackle the issue of the garbage dumps. They put a proper waste management plan in their village which included installation of waste bins & the setting up biogas plants.
