Answer: The Emperor was fond of new clothes.
Question 2: Why was the Emperor happy?
Answer: One day, two weavers came to the Emperor’s court and said that they could make the most beautiful cloth in the world. The Emperor was fond of new clothes so, he felt very happy.
Question 3: What according to the weavers was special about their cloth?
Answer: According to the weavers, only wise men could see the cloth made by them and the fools could not.
Question 4: What was the Emperor’s thought about that cloth?
Answer: The Emperor was happy and thought that when he would wear the clothes made with this cloth, he would be able to differentiate between wise and foolish people.

Answer: The weavers asked for the finest silk and the purest gold thread.

Answer: The Emperor sent his old minister to see the weaver’s work thinking that he was the wisest man in his court. However, the minister could not see anything on the looms.

Answer: If the old minister had told the king the truth, the king would have thought that the minister was not wise and he would have sacked him from his court.

Answer: The weavers pretended to cut the cloth in the air with a huge pair of scissors. They stitched the clothes with needles without any thread in them and cried at last that the Emperor’s new clothes are ready.

Answer: Everyone pretended that they could see the cloth because they didn’t want themselves to be called as fools or unwise. This is because the weavers had told in the court that only the wise men could see the cloth that they weave.

Answer: According to me, the king was not wise as he easily believed the words of the two weavers.
